Engaging Scotland with interactive new site

We are proud to announce the launch of the new Engaging Scotland site - designed and developed by our team in Edinburgh.

The site is managed in partnership with Edinburgh Beltane, (www.edinburghbeltane.net) which is one of six UK-wide Beacons for Public Engagement. Led by the University of Edinburgh, they bring together expertise from all the Higher Education Institutions in Edinburgh, plus the UHI Millennium Institute and 13 other public, policy, engagement and research organisations.

Engaging Scotland is the public face to this engagement programme, and has been carefully put together in a bid to promote cohesion between the public and the variety of ground breaking research, discoveries and findings from these intuitions across Scotland. It has been built to showcase public events for Edinburgh Beltane which hopes to engage with, educate and support communities. It also acts as a news hub with regular updates on scientific findings and happenings within the research world.

The site is a Drupal implementation which is the same as Beltane, allowing users to publish on to both locations. The site is of a contemporary nature and contains a Twitter feed, RSS feed for events, and a search function, allowing the user to filter by date, region or keyword.

The navigation of the site is simple and clean-cut, enabling users to find their round easily. Meanwhile the design remains uncluttered, and small splashes of colour bring it to life on screen.

Visit the site at www.engagingscotland.net.
