Digital Marketing Head-First: Dive in like a Pro

Info
  • Seminar Location Date Add to list
  • Melbourne Melbourne 28 May
  • Perth Perth 23 May

In this seminar we'll be tackling many of the issues surrounding digital marketing and focus on giving you top tips and hints to take away.

We'll consider how organisations should be using digital marketing to best effect, ranging from free activities like social media and content seeding, to paid techniques like Pay-Per-Click campaigns. As well as thinking about how to properly integrate and manage multiple marketing channels, we'll share tips for how to manage internal teams, create and publish new content, and collect and interpret the right data and metrics.

The first half will focus more on using digital marketing to communicate on behalf of the entire organisation, while the second will look at using digital marketing and other channels to run campaigns for specific messages/target audiences.

We'll pick a few audience organisations in advance and use them to illustrate the advice for both halves of the seminar – for example, setting up sample buzz monitoring for each, doing sample targeting for paid ads on the Google network, and showing where campaigns would tie-into their existing website, etc.

And because we’re always thinking about the user experience, we’ll also be covering the role of usability in digital marketing – why it’s important, and what steps you can take to ensure your digital marketing products deliver a high-quality experience to your audiences.

The seminar will feature a light touch of theory with a heavy dose of how-to, best practice, and audience examples to bring the instruction to life.

There will of course be a light breakfast and plenty of time for networking and questions as well. We hope to see you there!

  • Seminar Location Date Add to list
  • Perth Perth 07 June
  • Melbourne Melbourne 04 June

There is an approach with an active following referred to as 'Mobile First' which considers the content required and design for the smaller screen before the desktop. At this seminar we will put the Mobile First argument to the test and share with you the enthusiasm we have for mobile at Precedent.

With our continued and growing attachment to our mobile phones and tablets, we get frustrated when the website or app we use does not perform as we expect.

  • Are you providing your audiences with an optimal mobile experience?

  • Are you seeing increasing and healthy conversions rates from your mobile channel?

  • Do you have a strategic approach to develop your mobile presence?

We will explore the practical options available today to develop some of the ideas discussed at earlier seminars and give you advice, development checklists and design guidelines to help you to establish your mobile service. If you are considering a mobile app (native or framework), mobile site or considering making your full site fully responsive to mobile devices then this seminar will be perfect for you.

We will also be considering how you can design for touch devices, deploy web apps across devices using products such as PhoneGap or Appcelerator Titanium and discuss if you should optimise design for all phone and tablet devices. We will look at specifics topics such as image strategy when deploying it on a desktop and phone. We will show good and bad examples and discuss the pros and cons of the different approaches.

Finally, we will share our views on the trends we are seeing in the mobile space looking at where, for example, the Mobile Wallet, Smart TV or intelligent image recognition is moving and when you should plan to use this trending technology.

There will be a light breakfast as well as plenty of time for networking and questions.

Info
  • Seminar Location Date Add to list
  • Perth Perth 08 August
  • Melbourne Melbourne 02 August

The marketing landscape for visitor attractions, such as museums, zoos, parks and gardens, historical buildings so on, has changed dramatically over the past few years. The experience you provide to your visitors no longer starts at your entrance gate, it starts online. Your customers’ first impression of your attraction will be as a result of a digital experience not a physical one - they will plan their trip, purchase their tickets, share and reminisce through the digital channels of their choosing.

In this seminar you will be shown best practice examples of digital marketing, websites and social media from the destinations sector, being put to work to increase footfall. We will also look at simple ways that visitor attractions can give their online visitors the best possible all round experience.

Using examples from the report and beyond, you will be provoked into thinking about your digital landscape strategically and holistically, as well as being provided with numerous tactical ideas that you will be able to implement immediately to enhance your digital presence.

You will learn how you should be thinking in order to achieve a number of marketing objectives online, and how to integrate the various elements of your digital landscape into a seamless and engaging experience.
